Controllable lighting
Individually addressable LEDs behind every window. Control brightness, color, and animation from a phone or tablet — occupancy simulation, day-to-night transitions, or highlighting a specific wing, floor, or unit on demand.
Interactive layer for maquette studios
I help maquette studios offer illuminated, app-controlled, data-connected models — the kind a client remembers — without building an electronics or software team in-house. You keep the craft and the client. I add the interactive layer.
What I do for your studio
Individually addressable LEDs behind every window. Control brightness, color, and animation from a phone or tablet — occupancy simulation, day-to-night transitions, or highlighting a specific wing, floor, or unit on demand.
A companion app that turns a static model into something a visitor explores — tap a building to see floor plans, availability, or specs. Guided presentations your sales team runs from a tablet.
Large touch-table displays with aerial site context, transport links, walking distances, and points of interest — connected to live data so the model reflects real availability.
Same craft you deliver today, with a layer that makes the model do something in the room — and gives your client's sales team a reason to bring buyers to the table.
Work
A 1:75 portiekflat built to demonstrate the interactive lighting layer. 24 individually addressable LED zones behind the façade, driven by a custom mobile app. Runs occupancy simulation, smooth day-to-night lighting, and can highlight individual units live — the foundation for a real-time sales-status display.
A landscaped scale model of a multi-building development, paired with a tablet app that lets visitors explore the site beyond what the physical model shows.
A presentation model of a riverside residential development with a companion tablet: tap any building to open its details through on-screen info hotspots.
A large touch-table system built around a live aerial view of the site — transport routes, walking distances, and nearby amenities, all explorable by touch. The kind of instrument a sales center uses to sell location, not just a floor plan.
How we'd work together
You share the model or the plans and tell me what the client wants it to do.
I design the interactive layer — lighting, app, or data system — and agree scope and price with you.
I build the electronics, firmware, and software.
I integrate and test, and hand it over ready to install — or install it with you.
I work as a white-label subcontractor: your studio, your client, your brand. I'm the layer underneath.
About
I'm Leon Nikonov, an independent developer based in Voorburg, the Netherlands. I combine fullstack software with hands-on electronics — the full path from a bare circuit and firmware to a finished app. I've built interactive, illuminated, and data-connected models for residential developments, and I now offer that as a service to maquette studios here.
